Book Presentation

The book “Constitutional Amendments: Making, Breaking, and Changing Constitutions” was presented at the Constitutional Court of Georgia by Professor Richard Albert. During the presentation, the author talked about the importance and topicality of the work. The book discusses the procedure of constitutional amendments, the practices of different countries, issues of reviewing of the Constitutional Court on the constitutionality of constitutional amendments. The event was attended by judges of the Constitutional Court of Georgia, organizers, and participants of the international summer school “Constitutional Democracy: Modern Challenges”.

Richard Albert, William Stamps Farish Professor in Law and Professor of Government at the University of Texas at Austin, is the author of dozens of books and the founding chairperson of the International Forum on the Future of Constitutionalism. Richard Albert teaches courses in constitutional law, publishes books and essays on making and amending constitutions, and convenes international conferences in public law. Professor Richard Albert has earned law and political science degrees from Yale, Oxford, and Harvard.

The book was presented in cooperation with the Constitutional Court within the frames of the joint International Summer School “Constitutional Democracy: Modern Challenges” of Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University and Mykolas Romeris University.
